Everybody desires to be part of a loving family. Family plays an important role in our lives. When we need encouragement, comfort, advice, guidance, strength, rest, healing, confidence, self-esteem, security or forgiveness, we turn to family. When we need to celebrate achievements or lick our wounds in failure, we do so among those we trust. When we need a “safe place to fall” after being disappointed, we go home. When we need to be loved unconditionally, we rely upon those that care the most about us.

Families come in all shapes, sizes, and varieties of cultures. The traditional home with a mother, father and children surrounded by an extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins is not as common as it used to be. Our mobile, fractured and creative society keeps attempting to redefine family. Some "family" now consists of people that choose to share their lives and homes with those that are traveling down common paths. As nontraditional as this may appear, the needs to express and meet through these arrangements are the same as those in traditional homes and families. What this tells me is that everybody needs to be a part of a loving family.

I don't know about you, but I love to belong to a family. Whether it is a physical family or a spiritual family, I can not do without. This website was created to foster a dialogue amongst all family lovers and those who wish to develop skills of building better relationships. Many of the ideas discussed here were born out of seminars and workshops I have presented  over the years.

I would like to hear from everyone who has interest in family issues and those of you who would like to share your thoughts, knowledge, and expertise on various issues. I look forward to a lot of discussion with you all in the future.

Sincerely,

DAILY  DEVOTIONAL  THEME
May -The Lord Will Provide.

Genesis 22 :1-19; provides a clear picture of how both faith and loyalty to God can be tested. How would you stand? How would I stand? Abraham had waited for a long time to have the son of the promise. When he was finally born, Isaac was nothing short of a miracle. He was born to Abraham and Sarah when it was humanly impossible for them to have children because of their age. Abraham was one hundred years old, and Sarah wasn't too far behind!

Could Abraham's love for that son crowd aside his love for the LORD God? As Isaac grew into manhood, Abraham would have been increasingly attached to this special son. Would he love his son of the promise more than his God?

When Abraham was 115 years old and Isaac was a mature young man, "the One true personal God," Ha Elohim, tested his servant. He said to Abraham, "Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you" [Genesis 22:2.

Take the time to read the story for yourself . Let the Holy Spirit  help you to see and learn what it means to have faith in Him,  and obey when He  calls you.

Jehovah Jireth- The Lord Will Provide

" Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram[a] caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.” [Genesis 22:13-14 NIV].

Just as God provided a ram as a substitute for Isaac, He provided His Son Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice. God will meet all our needs.
